At The Friendship Café, we focus our efforts in running exciting projects and activities either directly or supporting other groups to run their activities. We welcome people from all backgrounds; most of the building is wheelchair friendly and accessible.

Dads & Lads - Fridays 7.30pm - 9.45pm

Friday 7.30-9.45pm

We have a range of activities for the boys and their Dads.
We also have a small number of girls (under 10’s) attend who are the younger siblings of the boys who like to join in the fun.

The Girls’ Activity Group is a group for 8-13 year olds; younger girls under 8 are welcome but must be accompanied by a female parent/carer. Contact zahara@thefriendshipcafe.com

Swimming - waiting on GL1 Leisure Centre to restart

Saturdays 5.15-6.15pm, Women/girls only (on hold waiting confirmation from GL1 Leisure Centre)
Sundays 1.30-2.30pm, Boys/men only
£1.50 a session Venue: GL1 leisure Centre, Twyver pool. All our sessions have same sex life guards, without public spectators or cctv on. Child Safety. We strongly advise all children to attend with an adult guardian who stays with them at all times as we cannot be responsible and only here the pool.

Self Defence - Tuesday 7.30pm - 8.30pm

Every Tuesday 7.30pm to 8.30pm
Cost: Only £1 a session and apart from optional grading for the belts (£12) and compulsory insurance (£12 a year),
The first session is FREE so you can see if your child likes it or not.

Safeguarding

We ensure that all of our staff or volunteers who have regular contact with children or young people have undergone a Criminal Record Bureau and background check. In line with the advice of the Gloucestershire Children’s Safeguarding Board, we try to ensure staff and volunteers have training on Child Protection, and are aware of our own policies and procedures.
